Just wanted to showcase what my fingers are doing while driving in art of rally. I hope the video will help you get a better feel for the handling in the game. I'm driving the original (group 4), which is a bit temperamental and you definitely could get by with less button mashing, if you pick an easier car (or increase steering assist in gameplay settings)

00:00 vs normal : automatic transmission; there is some tapping, but I'm taking it easy and trying to press the keys as little as possible; trying to keep my hands of the throttle when turning. (very far from an elegant run, because I don't usually drive like that)

03:30 rally setup

04:04 vs skilled : automatic transmission; trying to pull off good throttle control and steering, and accelerate while turning.

07:23 rally setup
Clock skips before master, as I cut out some failed runs.

07:47 vs master : manual transmission; trying to apply as many corrections as possible at any moment; (time would've been better, but I got a good flow in a few spots and started drifting)

SETUP:

If you don't crash, damage doesn't really have an effect in a 1 stage rally, but I selected it accordingy out of habit.

L is upshift, . (dot / period) is downshift. Space is handbrake.
I use the arrow keys for throttle / brake / steer. It was just easier to set the input overlay to display them as WASD.

My machine is barely covering the minimum requirements, so the video quality is pretty low. But it is what it is. Also, OBS was random again and there's some stutter - sorry about that!
