Victoria, BC | Bear Mountain Bike Park || Canada Cup Trail

During a recent vacation to Bear Mountain Resort on Vancouver island I had some opportunity to explore the area. I found the trails really enjoyable as they traverse the valley. The blues were reasonably easy technically with some punchy climbs. I missed out on riding a couple of the blacks nearby which looked fun and technical.

The primary trail I rode was called the Canada Cup trail. This was a rocky and rooty blue trail lacking anything really steep. It flowed well, allowing a lot of speed. I also rode the nearby flow trail which is one of my biggest weaknesses and it was very unique. Crossing the golf course concrete in places and honestly had some of the steeper sections. Worthy loop.

Next time I visit I plan to hit up some of the black diamonds in the area, especially if i can get the shuttle from the bottom to top, the climbing back up the roads was tedious.

The village area of the resort immediately resembled Whistler. From the pub designs to the coblestone and walkways. It was interesting walking around and knowing where everything was, without ever having visited the area.
