Sea Fever is a 2019 Irish sci-fi thriller directed by Neasa Hardiman. The film follows a group of fishermen who encounter a mysterious deep-sea creature that threatens their survival.
Siobhán (played by Hermione Corfield) is a young marine biology student who prefers isolation and scientific research over social interactions. She joins a fishing trawler crew for a research expedition, but as they venture into the open sea, their ship suddenly becomes immobilized by a massive, unknown deep-sea creature. Bioluminescent blue tentacles latch onto the boat, releasing a strange parasitic organism into the water supply.
At first, the crew believes it's just a mechanical issue, but soon, they start exhibiting disturbing symptoms. Panic spreads as they realize that this parasite is infecting and killing them one by one. Trapped in the middle of the ocean, Siobhán must rely on her scientific expertise to uncover the truth and find a way to stop the infection—before it's too late.
