Tamworth attack: footage reveals hotel destruction

Staffordshire Police said “damage was caused" to a hotel in Tamworth, including smashed windows, and “the lives of residents inside was put at risk”, although no one inside was injured.

The Holiday Inn Express, which was housing asylum seekers, was attacked by rioters over the weekend.

The riot marked an uptick in violence towards the police and will cause concern in No 10 as the target appeared more spontaneous than other rallies held over the weekend, which were widely publicised on social media and shared by far-right influencers such as Tommy Robinson.
