Sylvain Barou, one of the most captivating flutists of our time, is rooted in the Breton and Irish music tradition. With abundant musical encounters, he opened his mind further east.
The beginning of his personal “Silk Street” Sylvain Barou began with learning classical Indian Bansuri/Hindustani music, then his interest in modal music continued to Turkey, Armenia, Iran and Azerbaijan where he intensively learned Duduk and Zurna and adapted these styles and techniques to his original main instrument, the wooden flute (which is usually only heard in the context of Celtic music... )
All of these influences have produced a unique and open language, which allows him to identify himself on a variety of stages.

Stephan Braun is considered one of the most interesting cellists in the European jazz scene. As an educated classic and jazz cellist, he hosted well-known stages and festivals, such as the Vienna State Opera and also the Olympic Theater Paris. Concert performances already led him to Asia, North America, Africa and Europe. As sideman, he participated in more than 20 CD productions and also produced two albums of his own.

Nadishana comes from a small village in southern Siberia. While studying in St. Petersburg, he taught himself to play guitar. Meanwhile, the musicians master an impressive number of instruments: from the Bawu over the Kalyuka to the Mandola.
The multi-instrumentalist believes that music should be a combination of mystical beauty, mastery, innovation, good taste, knowledge and a message of great depth. The musician is humble enough to add that his compositions of this notion will never do justice. He has recorded 12 albums and collaborated with numerous musicians from all over the world.

Peter Somos master several instruments: mainly drums, but also keyboards, bass and all kinds of percussion. His broad musical vocabulary and his understanding of various musical traditions along with his systematic musical knowledge make him a perfect co-player. Its ease in dealing with complex rhythmic structures is rare. All of this is supported by knowledge of both jazz tradition and broad-minded world music.

Recorded live @ Kulturpunkt Flawil in frames of "No Live But Life" musical residence and live stream.
Special thanks to Ananda Geissberger and his crew!
