Passo delle Erbe (Ladin: Ju de Börz, German: Würzjoch) connects two Ladinian valleys Val Badia and Val di Funes and is the often crowded starting point for the Roda de Pütia. This is the round trip around Sas de Pütia (Peitlerkofel), the rugged steep Dolomite rock rising from the meadows.
Starting at Ju de Börz we took the way to the right at Munt di Fornella leading towards the narrow path on the Western slope - not the easiest path in the Dolomites and not to be underestimated. Always accompanied by the Odles de Eores (Aferer Geisler), it leads to Forcella de Putia (Peitlerscharte) and its steep and rocky ascent.
Once at the top of Peitlerscharte, the view opens towards the Dolomite mountains of the Pütia meadows, Puez, La Crusc and Val Badia. This time we added to the Roda a quick detour to Rifugio Genova (Schlüterhütte) and Col di Poma (Zendleser Kofel) - because it is close to Peitlerscharte and we can add the Odles view to our list of Dolomite mountains seen on our hike.
Returning back to Peitlerscharte we take the path down to the Pütia meadows, Ütia Vaciara, and from there gently back up again passing green blooming meadows on the left and right to Passo Göma (Gömajoch).
From there the last kilometers of hike are mostly downward through woods and meadows back to Börz - however, never to be forgotten the beautiful and impressive Citta dei Sassi coming after having passed Ütia de Göma.

All of the mentioned rifugi and malghe are worth stopping for food and drink, Munt de Fornella, Rifugio Genova (Schlüterhütte), Ütia Vaciara, Ütia de Göma.

Please, only go to the mountains well equipped - especially to the Dolomites. And, please, respect no fly zones - Parco Naturale Puez-Odles is like all natural and national parks in Italy such a no fly zone (the area beyond Passo Göma and Passo delle Erbe is just outside of the no fly zone, check with D-Flight for exact information).
