Andhra Pradesh is set to change the way people travel with the introduction of three major bullet train corridors passing through 11 districts in the state. These high-speed trains are part of a nationwide plan to build seven bullet train routes. Three of these routes—Hyderabad-Amaravati-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Bengaluru—will pass through Andhra Pradesh, covering a total of 1,671 kilometers, with nearly 857 kilometers within the state itself. The Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridor will travel 263 km through Andhra Pradesh, connecting towns like Kurnool, Don, Gutti, Anantapur, and industrial areas near Duddebanda and Hindupur. The Chennai-Bengaluru corridor will pass through Chittoor for about 90 km, and the state government has requested a connection to Tirupati. The largest corridor, Hyderabad-Amaravati-Chennai, will cover 504 km, passing through Amaravati, the new airport, Dachepalli, Guntur, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, and Tirupati, with stations planned at all major towns. These bullet trains will travel at 320–350 km/h, drastically reducing travel time between cities. Land acquisition is progressing quickly, and detailed project reports (DPR) will be ready by the end of February. If everything goes as planned, construction will begin in April, bringing fast rail access to southern coastal and Rayalaseema districts, excluding only the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam route. This project will make travel faster, easier, and more convenient for everyone in the state.
