Once upon a time, there was a young elephant named Eli. Eli was big and strong, but he had one problem: he never listened to anyone!

Every time his friends tried to help him, Eli would say, "I don’t need your help! I know what I’m doing!" And off he would go, doing things his own way. But because Eli didn’t listen, he often made mistakes.

One day, Eli decided to pick some apples from a tall tree. His friend Monkey said, “Be careful, Eli! The ground is slippery!” But Eli didn’t listen. He tried to reach the apples on his own, and – WHOOPS! – he slipped and fell right into a muddy puddle. Eli got very messy and felt silly.

Another day, Eli wanted to play near the river. His friend Crocodile called out, “Eli, don’t go too close to the edge! You might fall in!” But Eli didn’t listen. SPLASH! He slipped and tumbled into the cold, rushing water. Luckily, his friends pulled him out, but Eli was cold, wet, and a little scared.

After a few more days of not listening and getting into trouble, Eli began to feel tired of making so many mistakes. He thought, “Maybe I should start listening to my friends. They only want to help me.”

The next time Eli wanted to do something, he stopped and listened to his friends first. They gave him good advice, and things went much better! Eli learned that listening to others could help him stay safe and happy.

From that day on, Eli was known as the elephant who listened well. And he and his friends had many fun, safe adventures together.

Lesson: Listening to others can help you make better choices and keep you out of trouble.
