How to make an oil catch can for your engine.

Oil Catch Can Specs

The white part with the drain cock is the orig seafoam cap. I happened to have a pipe thread the exact size, height and threads I needed to secure the threads into the cap with JB Weld. Now I have real threads for the drain cock. Before I just tapped the cap, but the plastic cap was too thin to hold the drain cock tight. So before I used the cap from another seafoam bottle and just unscrewed it into a coffee can to drain.
- 1 SS scouring pad - 1 copper water pipe is 5.5" long, 5/8" OD, 1/2" ID - The bottom half of the copper pipe is drilled using a 1/4" bit. This is the area where the SS pad would cover.

There is no exact number of holes. You be the judge to have them spaced out nicely. I drilled from one side to the other. Remember to take the burrs off the inside and outside with a file.
- The pipe is open at the bottom- A 3/8" fuel line for the 3/8" barb connections fits well- The threaded part of the barb is 1/2" dia.- The 90* barb fit loose a tad inside the 1/2" ID water pipe but once I JB Welded it was tight. The copper pipe is also JB Welded to the seafoam can to get a tight seal. You don't want any vacuum leaks.

Also, remember to pop off the plastic part on the can where the cap screws onto using a spoon and your hand as a fulcrum. If you don't then the SS pad will be hard to install. Slide your longest finger through the SS pad and touch the inside of the copper pipe with the same finger and slide the SS pad off your finger, through the can hole and it should go around the copper pipe like your finger did. Then tap the bottom of the can so the SS pad is near the bottom.
I also used a 3/8" black plastic barb M-M to join my existing PCV hose to my extension hose to the can.
The top fitting with the copper pipe goes to the PCV hose from the valve cover.
The side fitting goes to the carburetor and will let in fresh air into the carburetor where the original PCV hose would let oil mist into the carburetor to burn in the combustion chamber with the fuel.
