What is SIR and why now?
Initiated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on June 24, 2025, the SIR is a comprehensive revision of Bihar's voter list—the first full check-up since 2003

If you're a voter in Bihar: ✅
Received an enumeration form ✔️
Submit it ASAP
Gather required docs (from the 11‑document list); you can submit them by July 25, or during the claims window
Check the draft roll on Aug 1 for your inclusion
If your name is missing or wrongly excluded, file a claim/objection asap


The process & timeline
Booth‑Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door enumeration: distributing and collecting pre‑filled forms, often with assistance from volunteers and political appointees

As of July 9, around 3.7 crore forms collected, nearly 47% of the voter base (of ~7.9 crore)

ECI has set July 25, 2025 as the deadline to submit documents for verification; late submissions may be allowed during the claims-and-objections phase
