Upgrading STOCK Brakes with Slotted Rotors//Pads & G2 Caliper Paint!

Описание к видео Upgrading STOCK Brakes with Slotted Rotors//Pads & G2 Caliper Paint!

In today's video, we Upgrade these 18 Year Old Acura RSX Brakes into something worth looking at! We installed Centric Slotted Rotors, Stoptech Street Select Brake Pads, and Paint the OEM Brake Calipers with G2 Ceramic Caliper Paint! What a difference!

As much as I would love to upgrade and install a big Brake Upgrade on the Honda, it's just not in the budget for the build right now. Instead, I opted to give the Brake setup a refresh that looks and performs better than stock! Painting the brake calipers was a big priority considering how rusty and dusty they looks. After reading countless reviews on the G2 Ceramic Caliper Paint, I thought I would give it a go and try the application myself. On top of that, I had some Centric Blank Rotors Zinc Coated and Slotted by Rotorpros and bought Upgraded Stoptech Street Select Pads.

Prepping the Brake Calipers for Paint was key in the process. From Spraying Brake Cleaner to All purpose cleaner, I needed to clean the rusty calipers the best I could. From there, sanding the calipers and using a wire brush was able to smooth out the surface for the best adhesion possible. This is my first time painting brake calipers myself, let alone a "brush on" caliper paint. To my surprise, the G2 Caliper Paint is...very good and very easy to apply. After 3 coats, the Gloss black looked phenomenal.

Installing the brakes is pretty straight forward minus removing a stuck screw from the rotor and a wrong rear brake pad. I had cleaned the hub and painted the brake dust shield as the cherry on top. Installing slotted rotors is as easy as taking the old ones off. Just make sure to remove the brakes and hang the caliper somewhere safe. I greased the new hardware, pins, and back the brake pads. At this time, I have bedded in the brakes and they feel amazing. Smooth pedal feel and even wear on all 4 corners. Love the look and feel of this new setup!
