At the 2012 CGI America Meeting, Van Ton-Quinlivan, Alexis Ringwald, Kenny Ma, and Peggy Walton announce a new CGI America Commitment to Action by LearnUp, Corporate Voices for Working Families, and California Community Colleges.

REAL-TIME JOB TRAINING PLATFORM TO SOLVE THE SKILLS GAP
In 2012, LearnUp, a real-time job skills training platform, committed to working with at least eight national and/or global employers, including the following confirmed companies Staples, Prudential, Gap, and Safeway to enable them to share job training content online for free with job-seekers, including over 100,000 students at community colleges throughout California. Building upon the success of the testing phase piloted in March of 2012, LearnUp will launch the platform officially on June 7 to 100,000 students in partnership with Corporate Voices for Working Families and the California Community Colleges. KPMG and Staples will remain on as partners and other businesses have come on to partner (see website). The LearnUp platform will also serve as a "virtual employer advisory board" to help guide the partners California Community College and Corporate Voices' emerging program to aggregate skills requirements by specific industry sectors.
