2007 BMW 525i E60 Driver Switch Block Not Working Fixed | It's Not What You Think

One Day on my BMW E60 5 series the complete Driver window switch block stopped working altogether. Then the next day it worked again and was fine for many months. One Day it stopped working again and this time for good. Nothing worked on it including the mirrors and rear roller sun blind. The other window switches on other doors worked fine and the driver window still worked when commanded with a scan tool. I tried a window switch block from the junkyard and had no luck. on the wiring diagram, I noticed the driver window switch block was on the same bus as the mirror auto-darkening system. I had the driver's door panel removed so I tried disconnecting the mirror. What do you know! the window switch block works again. I tried to investigate further and disconnecting the mirror glass itself made it work again. for now ill just cut the ribbon cable until I find another mirror glass.

Update: I found another used mirror glass but it did not fix the issue. either the used mirror glass had the same short or the problem is more complex, I need to study the wiring diagram further and report back if I for sure fix the problem so the mirror can work as intended.
