2017 Ford Edge Sport UNBOXING Review - Why Does Lincoln Bother With The MKX?

Today we bring you the 2017 Ford Edge Sport unboxing review and there's something you need to know right away: this is an excellent mid-size crossover. The Sport trim, powered by a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, is the top-of-the-line Edge you can get and it's worth paying extra for. Why? For starters, that engine. It's wonderful. Like 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds wonderful. What we also dig about the Edge Sport is that it does not have a third-row seat just to have a third-row seat. Point being, Ford didn't try to squeeze one in and instead made the second-row a delightful and comfortable place to be.

But the real fun is, of course, behind the wheel. Combined with Sync 3 (goodbye MyFord Touch!), the center stack is very well laid out and the overall fit and finish compares to that of a luxury vehicle. Speaking of which, the Edge just so happens to have a luxury platform mate, the Lincoln MKX, which we've also reviewed. Now that we've been able to compare the two, we wonder more than ever the need to spend a few thousand more for a restyled version of the same vehicle. Yes, the Edge Sport is that good.
