Accountability and Vision: Keep the "Why" In Front of You

It's one thing to be held accountable to others - for example, to God or to authority figures like parents, teachers, coaches, etc. It's an entirely different thing to be held accountable to yourself, to a personal vision or dream or ambition. One of the keys I've learned to keeping myself accountable is to continually and intentionally keep the vision - the "why" - in front of me. In this post, I also share a story of one of my favorite contemporary artists - Eminem - and how his personal story is a reminder of the power of keeping the vision in front of us. Vision gives pain a purpose. Vision sustains us when the feeling of motivation fades away. I pray this encourages, inspires, and challenges you.
