Wyze dropping Wyze Sense support, abandoning legacy customers

Here is the latest info, sent to me by email by a the Wyze product manager. In a nutshell, Wyze Sense has been totally abandoned.

I've just learned that there is a deeper and more nefarious reason that explains why Wyze dropped their v1 cameras and related v1 Sense products. It's because the v1 cameras have a security flaw. Wyze decided to keep this security flaw secret for years. Then, rather than being honest and telling customers about it, they quietly dropped their v1 products and v1 support! It appears to me that Wyze has come under the control of their investors and is now more interested in satisfying them, rather than satisfying their customers. It's a real shame the company is going down this path.

What happened to Wyze Sense products and have they been discontinued by Wyze?

Based on a recent conversation with the Wyze Support team, Wyze appears to be dropping all support for the Wyze Sense products, discontinuing that product line, and abandoning their legacy Wyze Sense customers. This includes the Wyze Bridge as well as the individual contact and motion sensors. This is unfortunate, since I really appreciate Wyze as a company and think their products are terrific. I hope Wyze decides to provide full support for the Wyze Sense products and customers and will let us know via their website, ASAP.

Note that the suggested replacement to Wyze Sense is the new Wyze Home Monitoring security system which also involves a subscription starting at $5/month. Wyze Sense products are NOT compatible with the Wyze Home Security System.

Does Wyze Cam v3 support Wyze Sense Bridge? NO. Wyze has introduced a new "Hub" that is part of their Home Security System. The new Hub is NOT compatible with the Wyze Sense products.
