PS PEVENSEY - A historic Australian Paddle steamer.

A short video I did from a recent ride on the
PS Pevensey - love it or hate it I thought I'd share something different but still mechanical, a work horse and beautiful in its own right.

I love Echuca and it's pioneer history, that changed Victoria forever as a trading state with other joining states and these paddle steamers were the very reason the Bendigo echuca railway line was built, to meet these paddle steamers and bring goods too and from Melbourne to settlements and towns along the mighty Murray River.

If you've never been up here, it's one of the most beautiful parts of Victoria, and Moama nsw across the old rail/road iron bridge is awesome to see.

While Walking through town hearing the steam whistles of the paddle steamers running tours up and down the river.

Definitely do yourself a favour and take a ride on one of these beautiful paddle steamers..

The Canberra is another steamer with rich history: launched in 1913, from its home port of Echuca, originally a single deck fishing steamer, but was convertered to a passenger steamer in 1945 which would be possibly the first passenger paddle steamer to run on the Murray at the time.

It for a short few years had a diesel engine running the paddle system while it's new boiler was sorted out, and now days runs on steam once again, and is fitted with a beautiful 5 chime Victorian Railways steam whistle as you'll hear in this video.

More train vids coming, just changing editor's after some eidtor crashes while rendering videos, so atm it's not so much me as it's the equipment I'm trying to use, but this video was a bit if a test, while I get used to the editor and what I can do with it without making the edits extremely complicated, the footage is piling up and I haven't been able to efficiently edit and render videos of late in between work and personal life as it's all done solo, filming, editing. But thanks always for the support.
