Do your flute students make a good sound on the headjoint, but struggle to get that same sound when they transition to the full flute? In my experience, this is common! I wrote this exercise to help students make that transition by starting with one hand at a time - this is the same intermediate position taught by Phyllis Avidan Louke and Patricia George in their great book, Flute 101: Mastering the Basics.
