In this video Ritesh Lakhi tells a rather inspiring tale of forgiveness as he traces back the case of Ranjit Singh Kuki Gill whose sentence was commuted following benevolent gesture by Avantika Maken daughter of Lalit Maken.
As Ritesh Lakhi re tells facts leading to the case of Lalit Maken and his wife Geetanjli Maken who were targetted by Kuki and his accomplices in July 1985, the long and tiring trial took over two decades to close with Kuki being sentenced.
HOWEVER the best turn in the sequence of events came after 2009 as Avantika Maken met Ranjit Kuki by chance during an electoral campaign in Ludhiana, thereby opening a new chapter which ended on a rather reconciliatory note with Avantika prevailing upon her family to allow remission application of Ranjit Singh Kuki go through and commutation thereby.
