In this video I cover everything you need to know about transferring across universities in South Africa. You are able to transfer during your degree, however there are a few things to note - I cove these in the video.

PS: I forgot to mention that different universities do not valuate their courses the same. SO a first year course/module in one university is oftentimes not the same amount of points in the other university. Please be aware of this and include it in your research.
