I almost sent this back before discovering a better way to put it together.This video created partly to help anyone else who decides to purchase a Woodpeckers clamp rack. I'm not saying that you should buy one.

Woodpeckers new Clamp Rack-It System is great organization option for woodworkers. I just installed the 16 inch wide version in my shop. It’s a very flexible system and it allows a lot of clamps to be hung in a small space. Wall space in my shop is at a premium.

I was, however, very disappointed in the design and directions of this system. Woodpeckers could have done a better job on the design and should have given much better and more specific directions for putting it together.

Fortunately I did discover a solution to the problem I had with this system. It was actually a simple solution. Because I figured this out the clamp rack is now hanging on the wall in my shop with clamps on it instead of being packed into the box and on its way back to Woodpeckers.

Now, for those of you who wonder why I didn't make my own clamp rack it's a matter of priorities. I was tired of the disorganization of my clamps and wanted a quick solution. I currently don't have the shop time available to design and make a clamp rack without taking more time away from the projects I'm currently working on. Woodpeckers came out with this system so I decided to buy one.

Yes indeed Woodpeckers is expensive. I fully agree with that. It amazes me though that I see a lot of posts about Chinese junk and people who promote buying American but then people say it's too expensive. In today's world things that are made in America aren't cheap. I won't go into the politics and economics issues that are related to this phenomena, but it's a reality of life.

In my case for my shop I decided to buy a clamp rack rather than build one. An American company made one that I thought would work in my shop. Instead of buying something similar made in China if one is actually available. I decided to support an innovative American company. In no way am I saying that anyone else should do the same.
