State University metro station – Tbilisi.

Tbilisi is one of the oldest cities in the world. It was founded in the fifth century, but archaeological excavations show that its territory was inhabited six thousand years ago.
It is very easy to navigate the Tbilisi metro. Today, the Tbilisi metro has only 23 stations, which are located on two lines: ,,Akhmeteli Theater” - ,,Varketili” and the Saburtalo line. 21 stations are underground, and two are on the surface.
State University is a station of the Tbilisi metro and is located on the Saburtalo line. A single-vault, deep-level station with an interior made of siding panels and a granite floor.
Construction of this station began in 1985, but was interrupted after eight years. Construction work resumed only in July 2015. The Tbilisi Metro first opened on January 11, 1966 and was the fourth in the former USSR, after Moscow, Leningrad and Kyiv.
