$40 vs $160 knife

$40 Mercer vs $160 Wusthof Are expensive knives worth it? My review is to see if a more expensive knife will truly outperform a cheaper knife. I know this is not objective, but as a home cook and father, this review is based on actual kitchen experience. I do not like buying expensive knives for the sake of buying expensive knives. I like to buy the knife that is right for the job, and for many home cooks, a knife that works is all they need.
