I want to share a bit of the back story behind this song.

First off, I know a lot of you have been with me for years and I dont know if I could ever thank you enough for your continued support.

I dont like to share much of my personal life but I think this is a good scenario to do so. Last year I really wanted to travel but COVID made it impossible so I was stuck in LA where I unfortunatly went off track and lost focus of what was truly important to me.

So January of this year, I hecticly escaped LA in the most irresponsible way ever and flew into the andes mountains of Peru with the intention of cleansing myself from all the toxicity I allowed into my life the past year.

This were this song started. I arrived in sacred valley Pisac, where I bought this little handmade flute from a local and recorded one single note, didnt think that would turn into a song. A week later, in the city of Cusco, I wrote the main drop in a room full of new friends that I had made in Pisac. Such cool characters. A few days later I wrote the main flute melody alone in my apartment, this when I decided to call the song "CURFEW" because the curfew was really affecting me and simply kept fucking up the vibe everytime we tried to do something fun. During this time in Cusco I took a photo of this flower that was growing out of what Im guessing was a 600+ year old sidewalk step. The way this flower bloomed and found life through the stones just spoke to me so much.

Some time passed and I was conviced by a friend I met in Pisac to fly to the north of Peru, to a beach city called Mancora. I was living in a little apartment over looking the beach and this is where I came up with the arrangement of the song. It was not easy writing music during all this moving around but it is what I got myself into and this song is a product of that struggle. I wasn’t going to put this song out but after talking to one of my patreons I found the inspiration to release it.

On a little side note the screaming vocals are from the LA protests that happened last year. I went out there with my field recorder and captured those moments and I thought they fit the song perfectly.

This new found experience traveling has taught me so much about who I am as a human as well as made me value myself, my time and my workplace a lot more than before. I used up all my money but it was all worth it. Ive been learning so much about life and the creation of music lately and I cant help but to feel like this song is an end of an era for CRWTH. Ive decided to take my life and my music a little more seriously from now on. If you made this far, I love you and appreciate the energy you share with me. I hope I can make really cool shit for you stick around for the next chapter of this journey. Thank you for everything.
