The Fascinating, Weird World of Quantum Matter: Karen Hallberg Public Lecture

Описание к видео The Fascinating, Weird World of Quantum Matter: Karen Hallberg Public Lecture

In her live Perimeter Public Lecture webcast on December 2, 2020, quantum condensed matter expert Karen Hallberg explored examples of emergent phenomena, such as superconductivity, and how we can tackle complex problems using quantum information to filter the most relevant data. Hallberg is a professor of physics at the Balseiro Institute and Research Director of the Bariloche Atomic Center, both in her native Argentina. She has developed state-of-the-art computational approaches to understanding nanoscopic systems and new materials.

Perimeter Institute (charitable registration number 88981 4323 RR0001) is the world's largest independent research hub devoted to theoretical physics, created to foster breakthroughs in the fundamental understanding of our universe, from the smallest particles to the entire cosmos.
