While Central Gully is usually a reliable ski objective in big snow years, low tide conditions made it more of a mountaineering route this year, due to a large ice bulge in the middle of the line. We pitched out the ice bulge with a picket belay, skied the line and negotiated the ice bulge with a V-thread rappel on the way down. Hoping to use these techniques to ski other lines in this range with mandatory rappels in the coming season.
