Corriganville Park in Simi Valley | The rise and fall of “Crash” Corrigan.

Come with me as I explore the site of the former western movie filming location, later turned popular amusement park, Corriganville.

The park predated Disneyland and Universal Studios and was incredibly popular back in it’s day with 10,000 to 20,000 visitors each weekend.

“Crash” Corrigan founded the park which offered tours of the movie lots, stunt shows, a working western town, Indian craft exhibits, along with pony and boat rides.

A divorce eventually led to the park’s downfall. Bob Hope ended up purchasing the ranch, transforming it into Hope Town, which also later went out of business.

The remaining buildings burned in a fire and the city later purchased the property and turned it into the park that it is today.
