Описание к видео Notable Figures & History of Persian Rugs

Seirafian Family – Isfahan
The Seirafian Family is renowned for producing the highest quality carpets in Isfahan, Iran. Founded in 1939 by Haj Agha Reza Seirafian, who dramatically increased knot density from 270 to over 500 knots per square inch, the family elevated Persian carpet weaving to new heights.

Materials & Craftsmanship: Exclusive use of pure silk warps/wefts, kurk wool (sheared from lambs’ shoulders and chest), and silk pile.

Trademark: Carpets branded with “Bafte Iran Esfahan Seirafian” in Farsi woven into the pile.

Legacy: Haj Agha Reza’s seven sons, including notable weavers Sadegh and Mohammad, carried on the tradition.

Notable Works: Mohammad’s masterpiece in the UN Auditorium in NYC, woven with a poem by Persian poet Sa'di in pure gold.

Modern Era: Mojtaba Seirafian continues the legacy with impeccable craftsmanship and certificates of origin.

Scale: Over 30 workshops under the Seirafian name, collectively known as the epitome of Persian carpet quality and collectible art.

Ahad Azimzadeh – Tabriz
Born in 1957 in Tabriz, Ahad Azimzadeh began working in carpet weaving early due to family hardships. By age 18, he co-owned a carpet store and later expanded his knowledge in Europe.

Innovations: Introduced round rugs to Iranian production, tailored carpets to international tastes based on extensive market research.

Business: Owned workshops in Tabriz and Isfahan, employing 300 workers; established a massive carpet exhibition in Tehran.

Awards: Received the International Golden Trophy in England (Quality, Management, Job Prestige) and Platinum Trophy in NYC for success and innovation.

Philosophy: Success credited to honesty, perseverance, and exceptional customer service, impacting the carpet industry globally.

Amoo Oghli Brothers – Mashad
Originating from Azerbaijan, Mohammad Kahnemouei (later known as Mohammad Amoo Oghli) shifted from silk production to carpet weaving and dealing in late 19th century Iran.

Legacy: His sons, Abdol Mohammad and Ali Khan, became master weavers who advanced Persian carpet art.

Workshops: Primarily around Mashad’s villages like Shandiz and Mahmoud Abad.

Craftsmanship: Produced some of Iran’s finest, thinnest, and most delicate carpets, comparable to fine fabric.

Design Influence: Collaborated with painters Abdol Karim Kermani and Abdol Hamid Sanatnegar who adapted Safavid-era antique carpet designs into new masterpieces.

Recognition: Carpets were part of the Shah’s palace and remain iconic in Persian carpet history.

After Abdol Mohammad’s death, Ali Khan continued the family tradition.
