Not long ago, Boss passed the torch of compact digital delays to the DD-8 which amazingly preserves the aesthetic of DD-2, the first compact digital delay pedal. Though the appearance and amount of knobs in this compact series hasn’t ever changed, the feature set and modes continue to evolve. Now the DD-8 sets a new record with 10 distinct delay modes plus a 40 sec looper. The DD-8 can take you through the complete history of delay sounds such as tape, analog and modulated. Modern delay modes include Glitch, Warm, Shimmer and even Delay/Reverb like the latest RV series.
Boss also manages to incorporate must-have features like stereo in/out with 3 stereo routing modes, delay carryover that’s easily switchable, tap tempo with subdivisions as well as expression pedal control. Each mode also can be Twisted utilizing an external footswitch for Space Echo-style ramping with self-oscillation.

The DD-8 is both straightforward and feature packed, making it a guaranteed workhorse on any pedalboard. Plus, it’s priced well under any boutique delay and built with Boss’ road-tested reliability.
