In a recent expedition to Menyamya, my talented son, Gedi Nalu, a skilled photographer and videographer, beautifully captured the essence of the Aseki-Menyamya route through his discerning lens. The upgraded connection between Aseki and Menyamya stands as a remarkable achievement, thanks to the visionary 'Connect PNG' Programme led by the Marape Government. This flagship initiative is committed to enhancing connectivity across even the most remote corners of Papua New Guinea. The Aseki-Menyamya segment bears witness to the unwavering dedication of contractors who have tirelessly toiled to erase the memory of the former muddy quagmires, once aptly dubbed "tunnels" by travelers. No longer do vehicles struggle through these obstacles, nor do passengers watch from the sidelines.

Under the leadership of Secretary David Wereh, the Works and Highways team has played a pivotal role in realising this transformation. Their unwavering commitment, combined with the 'Connect PNG' Programme, has turned an ambitious vision into a reality, seamlessly uniting Aseki and Menyamya despite the challenging landscape and unpredictable weather.

Earlier this year, the Honorable Prime Minister James Marape honored Menyamya with his presence, inaugurating multiple projects and personally witnessing the remarkable progress achieved through these roadworks.
