The Survivalists is a Top-Down, Base Building, Open World Survival game with Procedural Generation by Team17 Digital Ltd.

You're a castaway, you wander around collecting stuff, to build stuff, and you gather monkeys to make them build stuff. Boss those monkeys around! Make them build the settlement where they will, at best, exist as 2nd class citizens. Yay, civilization and progress.

The game has a bright and welcoming Art style that just feels good to look at, reminds me of Zelda: A Link To The Past. Not a bad thing AT All. This bright style sits in juxtaposition to the monkey colonialism being practiced by the player character, exploiting the island and its inhabitants for their own benefit, hope the monkeys don't unionize!

The music is calming and draws you into the island world, changing depending on events and the time of day. There is a day and night cycle, and at night, the monsters come out. Online Co-op is planned, and it has Full Controller support too.
