This video is a Key Signature Masterclass. A key signature tells you what notes are in a given key.

I'll cover each and every key used in western music, 12 keys in all. This is one of the most important topics in music theory because it provides a road map for understanding the songs you listen too.

The musical keys are represented by a diagram called the "circle of 5ths." Move clockwise around the circle to play in keys with sharps and counterclockwise for keys with flats. I've chosen popular songs to demonstrate the sound of each key. Try exploring these keys in your own compositions to bring out different musical colors.
