This is a salsa musicality demo.
I've been teaching salsa musicality workshops for years and felt like doing a single video demoing many of the workshops in one go.

Here are few ideas to watch for
1. Energy management - we want to change the dance's energy to match the song's energy, which often grows as the song progresses.
2. Only dance on what you hear - no basic steps or prepared shines; what you listen to leads to all of your shines and body movements.
3. When the song contrast musical ideas, we contrast dance ideas - changing styles and techniques to match different sections.
4. Build motifs; repeat dance moves as the musical phrases repeat.

Although it is a solo demo, every idea demonstrated can be applied with partner work; Manage energy by having simple variations when the energy is low, and make it more complicated when energy is high. Use the variations to match musical phrases you hear instead of random patterns. Contrast sections in the song by changing "themes" in your variations; big/small, round/linear, with-style/without and so on. Build motifs by using the same variations again when a musical phrase repeat.
