Shanghai just unveiled the lineup for the 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival on Thursday, running October 17 to November 27.

The schedule is massive with 500 plus events, 1,200 performances, and nearly 60% of the 55 main shows are international, with 90% premiere in Shanghai.

World-renowned conductors and orchestras will bring daring productions and large-scale opera marathons. Artists from across China will also showcase a series of original stage productions, including folk music concerts, the ballet Lily, and a large-scale newly adapted Cantonese opera.

Beyond theaters, the popular “Art Sky” program will stage more than 90 free public performances across Shanghai’s parks, plazas and landmarks. Nearly 2,000 artists from over 30 countries will take part, bringing world-class music, dance and theater straight to local crowds.
