RIP Bobby Banas from This Gone-Viral NITTY GRITTY Dance Clip

Bobby Banas, a legendary dancer who went viral 11 years ago thanks to his spirited performance in a "The Judy Garland Show" clip (you remember — "the Nitty Gritty"), has died at 90, his son confirmed. Banas appeared in a wide array of films and on TV: "Don't Knock the Rock" (1956) with Bill Hailey and His Comets; "Carousel" (1956), "L'il Abner" (1959), "Babes in Toyland" (1961), "Bye Bye Birdie" (1963), "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1964), "Mary Poppin" (1964), 'Girl Happy" (1965) and on "Get Smart" (1966).

Most famously, he was Joyboy in "West Side Story" (1959) and received a big kiss from Marilyn Monroe in "Let's Make Love" (1960).

Banas had a few on-screen roles into the '80s, but then continued working as a dance coach and choreographer. Divorced, he's survived by his son.
