The budget session of 2022-2023 is all set to begin today with President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to both the houses of Parliament. The session will continue till April 8, with a month-long break in between.

However, the Pegasus matter has been picked up by the opposition strongly and they are likely to raise this burning controversy in the Parliament amid the Budget session.

The New York Times report titled ‘The Battle for the World’s Most Powerful Cyberweapon’ said that Israeli spyware Pegasus and a missile system were the “centerpieces” of a roughly $2 billion deal of sophisticated weapons and intelligence gear between India and Israel in 2017. The report also referred to PM Modi's visit to Israel in July 2017.
