A replica of Chhatrapati Shivarai was established...!

Conceived by Colonel Pranay Pawar * Manufacture of replicas at Pune

The Maratha Regiment has erected a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj right on the Pakistan border. A replica of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been installed near the Line of Control in the Machhal valley in Kashmir. This replica is at a height of 14 thousand 800 feet. This is the first time in the world that Shiva Raya's replica has been installed at such a height. This replica of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj sitting on a horse with a sword in his hand looks directly at the Nanga Parbat with the Mawlas of the army and looks at the enemy. Two replicas of Maharaja have been installed on behalf of the army in Machhal village. Both these replicas have been created by Ajinkya Lohgaonkar, a 25-year-old young sculptor from Pune.


Shivarai is our inspiration - Colonel Pawar
This replica has been built from the idea of Colonel Pranay Pawar of Machhal Battalion. Citizens of Jammu and Kashmir are also getting information about Shivaji Maharaj through this statue. Colonel Pawar said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who united the Maratha community and established Swarajya, is our role model. Shivaji Maharaj routed the enemy with his war tactics and brave deeds. Like the army of their subordinates, the army today is also fighting the enemy on the border. Shivaji Maharaj is our inspiration. For the last 14 years, the Maratha Regiment has been stationed on the border in the Kashmir Valley. The ideal and moral values of Shiva Raya should be known to these soldiers who are fighting the enemy, hence the idea of installing a replica of Shiva Raya at Machhal was suggested. Idols were called from Pune for this. This idol was installed during Diwali last year. Both the replicas have been installed at the same place where all the jawans can have darshan of Shiva Raya early in the morning.

Creation of Maratha Memorial

One statue of Shiva Raya is installed near the Line of Control, while the other statue is installed at the ``Maratha Memorial'' constructed in Machhal village. This memorial has been constructed by the soldiers of the Maratha battalion in memory of the martyred soldiers. A massive wall has been erected in this memorial. The names of 32 martyred soldiers are engraved on that wall. Colonel Pawar also said that the history of brave soldiers who sacrificed for the country will continue to reach the common people through this means.
