How PRACTICAL is a .223 for DEER Hunting?!

North Carolina whitetail deer hunt. The gun is a custom build by SSK Industries and is chambered in .223. Using a GoPro Hero 11 and Sony Handycam to film with. The ammunition we are using is Hornady SP 55gr rounds. The scope is my personal favorite and have used vortex on practically every one of my rifles. The scope is a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-12. I have taken this weapon to a 3x600 using the Hornady FMJ/BT 55gr rounds and hit the 3 inch bullseye 8 out of the 60 total rounds you get for the match. This weapon is very accurate and could probably benefit more from a better long range optic but this one suits the practicality of usage for me. This hunt is taken place on private property.
