Craig Mack is an American rapper, who gained fame on Puff Daddy's Bad Boy Entertainment record label in the 1990s. Although his first single was released under the name MC EZ in 1988, he is best known for his 1994 hit single "Flava In Ya Ear", which was released under his real name. The remix of the single was the breakout appearance of The Notorious B.I.G., as well as one of the first solo appearances by Busta Rhymes. The success of The Notorious B.I.G.'s debut album Ready To Die overshadowed Mack's early success on the Bad Boy label.
Although Puff Daddy mentioned in a 1994 interview on MTV's Yo! MTV Raps that he was working with Mack on his second album, which was to be released sometime in January the following year, this proved to not be the case. Present at that interview (which also included The Notorious B.I.G.), Mack himself appeared puzzled by the statement.[1] Mack did release a second album in 1997, but none of the singles charted and Mack was unable to repeat his success. In an interview, Biggie Smalls says he appeared on the remix of Flava In Ya Ear for political reasons for Puffy.[citation needed]

In multiple interviews, Craig Mack has stated clearly that for him the real joy in hip hop is moving the crowd from his delivery of rhymes and rhythms. He has noted that for him the hip hop tradition includes inspiring the crowd to get up and dance.
His rap style has wonderful flavors of old blues tones in his delivery and slight allusions to melodies from blues icons such as Leadbelly, Robert Johnson, and Muddy Waters. Craig Mack's track "Mainline" from his first album "Project Funk da World" has some powerful evocations of John Lomax's "Rock Island Line" (1934) which was later popularized by Leadbelly.
"Flava in Ya Ear" is a single by American rapper Craig Mack. The original single was released first and the remix followed soon after. It featured performances by labelmate The Notorious B.I.G. (the only time they collaborated while he was alive), Rampage, LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes. It also contains Puff Daddy as a promoter and brief appearances by Keisha Epps. The video features guest appearances by Das EFX, Mic Geronimo, and Irv Gotti though none perform on the song. The original song is widely regarded as a classic rap song. The music video was directed by Hype Williams. The song received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 37th Grammy Awards in 1995, losing to "U.N.I.T.Y." by Queen Latifah.
The song appeared on Bad Boy's 10th Anniversary... The Hits album. The single itself peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] The remix version of the song appears in the video game Dance Central for the Xbox 360.
"Flava in Ya Ear" was sampled in the Jennifer Lopez single, "Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)". The video of the remix version was parodied by Brandy's "I Wanna Be Down" remix.
French Montana, is an American rapper born in Morocco. He is the founder and CEO of Cocaine City Records. In 2012, he signed a joint venture recording deal with Maybach Music Group and Bad Boy Records. Montana is known for his frequent collaborations with Max B, and more recently with Rick Ross along with his group Coke Boys which includes rappers Chinx Drugz, Cheeze, and Flip.
