Описание к видео The Real 47 Ronin (the Ako Incident)

This is a fascinating historical look at the 47 Ronin, from 1702.
In this video, we show you where you can visit the graves of the 47 Ronin of the Ako Incident. This story has inspired many movies, plays, and television shows over the years.

First, we go to the site of the former residence of lord Kira, who was beheaded for basically being a huge jerk. Then we take you to where the head of Kira was delivered, at Sengaku-ji (Sengaku Temple).

The temple and graveyard are free to visit. The museum is 500 yen.
Sengakuji (泉岳寺) Temple is located near Shinagawa Station in Tokyo. It is famous for its cemetery where the 47 Ronin are buried. They are also known as the Akoroshi, or the masterless samurai (ronin) from Ako.
There is also a small museum (Akogishi Kinenkan) about the 47 ronin here, containing artifacts about the 47 samurai, including the original receipt for the head of lord Kira.
