Part 2 - Blues Shuffle on Cigar Box Guitar - rhythm technique, turnaround, rundowns & walking bass

Описание к видео Part 2 - Blues Shuffle on Cigar Box Guitar - rhythm technique, turnaround, rundowns & walking bass

This is my 2nd video abut learning to play a shuffle on 3 string cigar box guitar - get your guitar tuned in G D G and let's get started!!!
Here's the first introductory part:

   • Learning the basics of a simple blues...

I'm going to reiterate and reinforce the rhythm part of playing, to try and stop that up-and-down scrubbing that a lot of beginners saddle themselves with. It's important to take your time, slow down and repeat, repeat, repeat.

Then we'll move on to adding to the basic moves by starting the idea of a "walking bass" that will add colour and movement to your playing, filling out the bass part of your sound. Then we 'll look at a classic rundown and turnaround to add at the end of the verses. Finally, put it all together with a little bit of slide - not too much. For me its like hot chill sauce, everyone's taste is different, but nobody wants a whole plateful of nothing but hot sauce! So use the slide sparingly and make it count...remember Son House's words of advice - You gotta get your rhythm right, boy! If you can’t play rhythm, ain’t no point in putting slide on any kind of sh*t.

If you want a slide like that I'm using, it's one of our genuine bone slides, available here:
