TORUŃ - Poland - A Gem of a City with Unesco World Heritage Status

Описание к видео TORUŃ - Poland - A Gem of a City with Unesco World Heritage Status

If you’re looking to visit a city that’s a little less in your face and slow-paced, then Toruń might well be your best bet.

Toruń is a city on the Vistula River in north-central Poland. One of the oldest cities in Poland, around 200,000 people live in the city.

The Medieval Town of Toruń is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (added in 1997). According to UNESCO, Toruń’s value lies in its being "a small historic trading city that preserves to a remarkable extent its original street pattern and outstanding early buildings, and which provides an exceptionally complete picture of the medieval way of life".

This video highlights some of the main sights in the Old Town of Toruń, including:
✔️ The New Town Main Square
✔️ Szeroka Street (the main pedestrianised street in Toruń)
✔️ The Statue of the Woman Gingerbread Baker (Toruń has a rich gingerbread-baking tradition and the Museum of Gingerbread is well worth a visit)
✔️ The Old Town Hall
✔️ The Old Town Market Square
✔️ The House of Nicolaus Copernicus

When the sun is out, there are few finer places in Poland to stroll around.
