Engagement & Empowerment of Asian Pacific Islander Communities Webinar #4

Описание к видео Engagement & Empowerment of Asian Pacific Islander Communities Webinar #4

The fourth webinar in the Engagement & Empowerment of Asian and Pacific Islander Communities will feature prominent community leaders who will highlight the Japanese community in San Jose, California; the Korean community in Chicago, Illinois; and the diverse Asian and Pacific Islander community in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Learn about the initiatives of the Japantown Community Congress of San Jose to preserve and strengthen one of the last three remaining Japantowns in the United States, with the assistance of a California grant (SB 307).

Hear about the programs of the HANA Center to support the Korean and Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities in the greater Chicago area, ranging from education, wellness, workforce, immigration, and senior housing services to community organizing, civic engagement, and youth empowerment.

Panelists from the Asian Business Collaborative in Albuquerque will discuss a robust community-driven initiative to finance, design, and construct a multi-cultural community center to serve the City’s API communities.

Panelists will also engage in a moderated conversation to discuss API issues common to all three cities and suggest how planners can effectively engage and support these communities.
