Allice Legat's book Walking the Land, Feeding the Fire: Knowledge and Stewardship among the Tłįchǫ Dene (2012) documents the story of her twenty years of working with the elders in the Tłįchǫ Dene communities. In her talk she will tell how she came to know and understand the elders' stories about what it means to be a Tłįchǫ Dene and how that knowledge is intimately connected to the dè, the Tłįchǫ Dene land.
