Lambing inside the coverall is keeping us busy with creating family pens for groups of sheep and moving them in an out of lambing jugs. Every lamb is weighed to have on file it's birth weight. We do this task at 24 hours of age and not immediately as born. The reason is that lambs tend to have the highest risk of dying within the first 24 hours so we simply hold off until then. Weighing the lambs allows us to track details related to the ewe and if we plan to keep replacement lambs, we aim to keep those that are the most healthy from birth.

The lambs and families are now divided up Into 5 family pens to ensure bonding, reduce stealing milk from other mama’s and prevent over crowding .
