New Four-Day Working Week Trial Sparks Productivity and Pay Debate | Good Morning Britain

Monday sees the launch of a new six-month pilot programme trialling a four-day working week with 70 UK firms, involving more than 3,000 employees across 30 sectors including The Royal Society of Biology, a brewing company and fish and chip shop. Joe Ryle, Campaign Director for the 4 Day Week campaign, is calling for a 32-hour working week with no loss of pay. He says numerous studies show productivity increased when employees worked shorter hours. But is it unreasonable to expect to be paid for a five day working week and only work four days?
