Geomatics is the new subject introduced by IIT KGP in GATE 2022. The Syllabus of Geomatics is discussed in this video. YP is launching full module for preparation of this subject. Students of Civil Engg along with seven other branches can apply for this paper. Agriculture Engg, Civil Engg, Mining Engg, Computer Science, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics can apply with Geomatics.

Geomatics engineering is a key field for measuring, modelling, and presenting geospatial data and various phenomena. The latest technological developments such as global satellite navigation, autonomous navigation, driver assistance systems, digital maps and virtual globes have enhanced the public’s understanding of this field. Geomatics Engineering deals with the presentation of geographic data or geographic information. In short, it focuses on spatial information and data. Geomatics Engineering is also a section of the GATE Civil Engineering(CE) Syllabus. The two new papers for GATE 2022 will be Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Geomatics Engineering", IIT Kharagpur, the Organising Institute of GATE 2022. Including these two papers, the total papers in GATE 2022 will be 29. The final syllabus of the paper was released on the 31st of July 2021.
