Hyundai INSTER: The Game-Changing All-Electric Sub-Compact EV Unveiled at Busan International Mobility Show 2024

Introducing the Hyundai INSTER, Hyundai Motor Company's latest all-electric A-segment sub-compact EV, unveiled at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. With its unique design, segment-leading range, and advanced technology, the INSTER is set to redefine the urban electric vehicle market.

Inheriting the design legacy of the petrol-powered CASPER from 2021, the INSTER boasts an extended body and wheelbase, offering more interior space and a rugged road presence. The robust small SUV profile, highlighted by strong fenders, a high-tech bumper, bold skid plate, LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, and optional LED projection headlamps and alloy wheels, make it perfect for city driving and parking.

Step inside the INSTER to experience cutting-edge technology and convenience. The 10.25-inch digital cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, and wireless charging dock create a spacious and high-tech interior. The pixel theme continues in the steering wheel graphics and customizable upper door trim garnishes.

Versatility is key, with walk-through front row seating, fold-flat seats (including the driver’s seat), a front bench seat option, and heated front seats and steering wheel. The second-row seats, split 50/50, slide and recline for maximum flexibility. Sustainable materials, like recycled PET and bio-polypropylene, are used throughout the interior.

The INSTER offers fast charging capability and a segment-leading range. Equipped with a standard 42 kWh battery and an optional Long-Range 49 kWh battery, it delivers 71.1 kW (97 PS) in the base variant and 84.5 kW (115 PS) in the Long-Range version, both providing 147 Nm of torque. The Long-Range model offers an impressive 355 km range (WLTP) on a single charge, with an estimated energy consumption of 15.3 kWh/100 km. Using a 120 kW DC High-Power charging station, the INSTER can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.

Enhance your lifestyle with Vehicle-to-Load functionality, providing external and internal power supply to devices like electric bicycles, scooters, and camping equipment. The INSTER is packed with sophisticated technology and convenience features, including 64-color LED ambient lighting, a digital cluster, a one-touch sunroof, and Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch accessibility.

Safety and driver assistance are paramount with features like Surround View Monitor, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear, Blind-spot View Monitor, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safety Exit Warning, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Highway Driving Assist 1.5, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, and Rear Occupant Alert.

The INSTER will debut in Korea in summer 2024, with subsequent rollouts planned for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Most equipment and technologies will come standard, with enhanced convenience and design features available as options. Stay tuned for more updates on the Hyundai INSTER, the urban EV that's set to change the game!
