The backyard for this modern styled infill home in the Calgary community of Winston Heights Mountview was a blank slate with just a lawn when we were called in to design and install a new landscape. To echo the style of the home we used Dimensional Flagstone large format pavers for the patio and path picking up the lines of the home with the lines of the patio. Installation of a pondless Basalt bubble rock fountain reinforces the modern look and helped to achieve a goal of attracting some wildlife to the garden. The lawn was replaced with synthetic turf and bordered with decorative concrete curbing for low maintenance, as this is a relatively small backyard with a busy family and is partially shaded by mature spruce trees.
