When you register your logo you can officially use the registered trademark symbol ® alongside your logo and more and more businesses and organisations are doing just that to protect their intellectual property and brands.

Randomly placing the registered trademark symbol beside your logo can make it look off-balance as it wasn't factored in when the logo was originally designed.
